Filing Requirements
Trademark/Service Mark Requirements
- A power of attorney notarized and legalized up to the Saudi Consulate. One
general power of attorney is sufficient for filing simultaneous and any future applications.
- A list of goods/services to be covered by the application.
- Fifteen prints of the trademark. A trademark print should not exceed (7x7) cm.
- The full name and address of the applicant, Saudi Arabia is not a member of any
international convention. However, it is possible to claim priority if the applicant
submits a certified and legalized copy of the priority document within six months
from the filing date of the corresponding application, i.e., within the priority
period.
Renewal of Trademark/Service Mark Requirements
- A power of attorney notarized and legalized up to the Saudi Consulate.
- The original Saudi registration certificate of the trademark for the purpose of
endorsement.
Assignment Recordal Requirements
- A power of attorney notarized and legalized up to the Saudi Consulate.
- A legalized deed of assignment executed by both assignor and assignee.
- The original Saudi registration certificate of the trademark for the purpose of
endorsement.
License/Merger Recordal Requirements
- A power of attorney notarized and legalized up to the Saudi Consulate.
- A legalized certificate or merger or a copy o the license agreement.
- The original Saudi registration certificate of the trademark for the purpose of
endorsement.
Change of Name/Address Requirements
- A legalized power of attorney showing the new name and/or address.
- A legalized certificate of change of name.
- The original Saudi registration certificate of the trademark for the purpose of
endorsement. (as for recording change of address, only 1 and 3 of the above are required).
